Sounds alright but presumably the massive discount is because there's something else about killing it off?

Not sure why it's so cheap to be honest. They have released a V2 with minor updates. The next cheapest is Wiggle at £900
-
• #2179
Probably want rid of them. I'm not sure how many people buying £1200 turbo trainers shop at Halfords.

Out of saddle effort on the Cycleops Hammer, bent the skewer, bike jumped out and now the chain stays are scratched, hopefully not fucked.
I’m sure there is something I need to learn from this...

And presumably fell over??
I have the fear of standing efforts for this reason -
• #2182
Yeah, do your QRs up properly.
I'd probably add don't do sprint training on turbos but that's me. I'd have broken way more frames if I was sprinting on the turbo.

Caught myself on the window ledge, which also presumably stopped me from snapping the rear triangle...

Replacing it with the burliest Shimano skewer I can find, had a tacx turbo one on there before and hadn’t had the issue before.
Might go back to my plan of building a steel turbo beater, won’t be so devastated if it gets busted...
Now to find out whether the chainstays need repair :(

• #2185
Don't use your S-Works on the turbo?
-
• #2188
Did you ever break your old blue Ribble? As that's what I use on the turbo.
-
• #2189
I do standing efforts every now and then, but I'm not massively strong or heavy. Wahoo kickr weighting a tonne does help, got far more problems with "dumb" cheap turbo
-
• #2190
Nah, I gave it away to someone on here. To be fair I use both my S-Works on the turbo and I've never had issues but I don't do any sprints on the turbo.
-
• #2191
Standing up isn't the issue. I can stand up and ride at 100W or 500W basically steady. It's doing proper sprints that are going to be unkind to frames and turbos.
-
• #2192
I kept getting wheel slip from accelerations, which is why I got the Hammer (not blaming it at all)
Doubt i’m going to do sprint efforts on it again for some time...
Now hunting for Cheap steel frame for brutal turbo use.

I was doing a sweet spot workout with increasing durations of ‘seated sprinting’ at 200% ftp, but then after the workout finished, thought I would give it the beans for 10 seconds, and this happened 2 seconds in.
No issues beforehand.
I have cracked a carbon handlebar on the turbo before though. -
• #2194
I don't do any sprints
ever

@BareNecessities
I ride everywhere at 1500W. That's how much power it takes to move my planetoid body. #hippyisfat -

Selling this for all you Direct Drive Frame crackers:
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/328428/#comment14527493Tacx Bushido which’ll take your 2500W* without breaking your bike.
Very straightforward auto-power-adjustable / controllable / workout plannable through an app trainer without the faff of third party apps, power cables, annoying connectivity bollocks and not a bastard zwift in sight.
Will listen to sensible offers as I’d like it out of my apartment.
*may or may not be completely ficticios although I’ve put 1200W through it a good few times

Lol, I replaced my Bushido with the direct drive trainer...

And look what happened!
