This is the rear wheel with a flat 2.25" tyre mounted: Looking at the shape och the chainstays in relation to the wheel (and the lack of tyre clearance) makes me think its a 26er frame :/

Are they those alpkit bars?
Certainly looks like it. I guess the best way to tell would be to check the geometry charts. Easiest measurement to me would be fork a2c. I'd imagine the 26 and 29 models (of the same size) are different.
