All his theorising came from stuff that had been reported.
I found his style a bit annoying every now and again but I think the sensational style of some posts was a reflection of how he saw it and perhaps some excitement rather than hyping for personal gain.

I was too quick to dismiss him. But his Homer-length threads expounding on theories which at the time weren’t being backed by reporting made him come across like a crank. I’m still unsure if I think he is inspired or lucky. But, yeah, sure, I shouldn’t have written him off so blithely.
