  • Please forgive this crappy basement picture.
Gravelkings sk 35mm and pizza rack installed. Mudguards still waiting for it's turn, but it turns out to be harder as earlier as I have now a broken screw inside the frame... and I need longer chain.
I wish I could take a day off my life to sort this all out.

  • There's an extremely ratty Pompino on ebay at the minute for anybody who doesn't value their teeth too highly. How does a bike even get that fucked up?

  • Yeeh someone posted about it last week, see previous page for consensus.

  • Just finished my own fixer upper. Wasn't quite as ratty as that ^ to start with, but very pleased with the transformation.

    To this:

    Thread on my adventure here.

  • Hard to believe it's the same bike. Great before & after comparison, looks very nice.

  • What mudguards can you fit to a pompino?
I've got a set of sks in the house, would like to try avoid bodging

  • why are peeps chopping their canti bosses off? Went to buy one of these the other day and realised at the last sec that there would be no rear brake action...

  • Sks work well in my experience.

  • Clean look innit.

I've only taken the posts off mine, the bases are sill there. I intend to drill the bases out a bit and tap them to accept removable posts but I've been intending to do this for a couple years now.

  • ah I getcha.

if you removed the brazed on cable guide too won't a clamp-mounted canti hanger be a total faff with the raised st/monostay though?

  • I'd just use a mini v.

I'd also need to do some cable routing work as I removed the toptube cable stops long ago, I think they caught my clothing.

  • New coat for my pomp. Soon...

I seem to be unable to upload images. Will try again later! Expect sparkles.

  • Built up again for the winter.

Single speed for the time being whilst I decide what fixed rear hub I want.

Think it needs matchy -10° Thomson stem ...

  • Bought this bike for £250 on the forum. I'm terms of fun/£ this one knocks all my other road-ish bikes out the water. I haven't really changed anything since i bought it since it all works fine. Recently tubelessed the wheels which has given me a lot more confidence to take it wherever I like.

  • Ha! It's had a colourful life...

  • Yeah, always wondered what happened to the bike, good to see still in the forum, bought it to replace my day one but then decided to keep the Day one, kinda think it was the wrong choice now, ridding a steel charge plug canti now and enjoy it...

  • So I got one in the end. Does that make me am owner yet, or is there an initiation?

All I will say is that have had it running for 2 days now, and I fucking love it.
