made a vegan chocolate sponge cake just now, but its not good. bitter/sour.

Someone on here recommended this recipe to me and it’s never let me down. Coconut oil can be subbed for vegan butter (naturli is best ime) and coconut butter works well in the ganache but can also be subbed out.

Hey, thanks. The cake has just been tasted and declared fine (I don't really like chocolate cake). This is a result. Just need to make the 'buttercream' icing now.

My mom declared that they won’t spend Christmas with us because we don’t eat meat. Not because they couldn’t, but because we won’t.

So we’ll go to my sweet and loving in laws instead, where we’ll cook mock duck.

Sure, fair enough, yet I was sort-of hoping for a condensed personal summary of sorts.
As in: what were the major challenges, what would you do different if you could turn back time, what do you think is wort mentioning / good advice for others who plan to raise their kids vegan etc.

It is. People in Denmark eat duck for Christmas so it blends right in.
You can get it in asian supermarkets, and it takes 5 minutes to fry, you just fry it with a bit of soy sauce and it’s perfect 👌🏼

Anyone else struggling to keep weight on ? I’ve been vegan for about a year now, it coincided with me coming back from a long term running injury, so I expected the weight loss at first. I’m eating loads, feel great, running the best times I’ve ever run at 48 years old but I am struggling to maintain my weight.

I’ve been to doctors been given a clean bill of health but my weight keeps creeping down, I’m eating like a pig but I’m starting to look like Mo Farah. I’m even starting to get tempted by those monster get fat shakes you buy at body building shops. To give you an idea, when I left school at 16 I was county xc champion and weighed 9.5 stone. Now I’m 8 stone 10 😱

I tend to end up upside down in a hedge after 3 pints these days but yes beer and lots of it maybe the answer :D

It's the obvious answer and anything else should only be considered after a few pints.

Also, you could do less whilst drinking beer, doing stuff makes you skinny, doing fucking loads makes you @skinny
