Reviving a laptop. Needs monitor and keyboard. Managed to get it up and running and was running Windows updates as it hasn't been used in 2 years. Had to shut down while updates were happening. Now if I turn it on it seems to be doing something but nothing comes on the screen and then it shuts down after maybe 4 mins. Has option to boot to Ubuntu or windows on startup but I think it will default to windows if nothing is suggested.
How do I boot in safe mode? How do I get this working again? Yes, it is an amazingly old monitor :)

Can you get a chain tug for a forward facing drop out?
-

An often-asked question! The Surly Hurdy Gurdy is designed for forward facing dropouts. I bodged one together on the same principles from a cheap generic chain tug.

Anywhere selling DT Swiss 240s 11spd hubs for less than Ā£200?
What's the go to commuter/value 3/32 singlespeed chain these days?

I think F8 will get you boot options if you press it on start up but you'll need to see what you're doing

(the kinetic thing really works? when you slow down the light gets brighter? will cars understand you are slowing down? or this is a gimmick and we must ALWAYS be on the lookout for drivers! -

i was just wondering about the feature it has, the kinetic thing that reacts to your loss of speed, will cars understand you are slowing down?

Our visit was in July and August. I have no experience of winter conditions in Iceland.

They get brighter when you slow down, but as no one expects bikes to have brake lights and everyone expects bike lights to flash/pulse as most do, I doubt anyone will really notice yours are getting brighter when you slow down unless you've specifically told them that's what yours do.

Yes, if you want them enough šhttps://www.lfgss.com/comments/13785288/

ok, i think u r right, anyway car drivers are more concerned with other cars, not with us, so better to always keep vigilant and hope for the best i guess

Just get one bright enough to sear retinas with strobe settings fast enough to set off people's epilepsy and you'll be fine.

Back again,
Best courier for a complete bike? And average cost?
It'll probably be about 10kgs.

Check parcel2go.
It is generally much cheaper to get a parcel under 99cm long and max 3m in length+circumference.
Play with the gizmo on the website.
I once sent a full biek from London to Germany for 20ish quid. -

Any excel gurus give me an idea of how to get an average per day per source from multiple worksheets?
Guess I'll have to do totals per worksheet first?

Check the excel thread.
Basic sheet reference details are here:

You may want to have a look at the Consolidate tool (under Data on the ribbon). Depends a lot on the source and what you want to do.

Iāve been running an x-sync chainring with KMC chains for over 3 years.
As far as I know, Iām not dead.

As far as I know, Iām not dead.
We'll be the judge of that thank you very much.

Yes, but can you say you've really lived unless you've used the recommended chain?
Cheers - I guess it was bonuses all round at SRAM marketing HQ when they realised they could increase sales of chains by writing that instruction on the chainrings...

probably planning to go circa june next year, so hopefully won't have to drink own piss.
