For me the appeal is just how a bike's performance is so cheap. I've bought bikes for £500 and the same day had had them 130+ mph, and can wheel them into he shed where it's secure, insurance is roughly £100 etc... I'm probably into cars just as much but not sure I'll ever have the money to buy something equally fast.
I fully agree and these are the things that always weigh in the favour of getting a bike when I think about it. I'll probably end up doing it at some point but it'll probably happen if/when we move back to the UK. Right now, without a garage I'm a bit stuffed.
