Sort of related (geographically at least), up near the Auld Triangle tonight 5 or 6 youths crowding round an older guy who cried out for help as I rode past.

Take care out there folks.

Stopped in the middle of the road and yelled long enough and loud enough for someone in one of the houses to offer to call the police. I zipped home and did the same, woman on the call said police were on scene by the time I called.

Numbers were well against a direct intervention.
