  • There is the Downs Link that runs from Guildford (North Downs) to the south coast at Shoreham.

Most, if not all of it is on a disused railway line.

I rode half of it a few weeks ago, from Guildford to Christ's Hospital. Truth to say, it was pleasant but a bit dull. I think it needed company.

Closer to home, there is the lovely little run from Highgate to Finsbury Park, whose name currently escapes me.

    Great thread by the way.

Is this on the London - Brighton off road route? I remember doing a bit of railway line on that and it being great because we made up some time, but it was a bit bland as it was all in a steep cutting

That's made me remember a bit of route near Coventry that I used to commute out to an NR training centre on, i think it went close to or through Warwick Uni campus....cant seem to find it now. I always found that route rather 'functional'.

  • I think the Highgate to Finsbury Park stretch is part of the Capital Ring. That segment itself may have its own name though. Really pretty.
