Only the downhill bits are timed innit?
So if they take a blood bag or 149 puffs of their inhaler on a 'transition' does that count as out of competition?
The transitions aren't timed but they do have a schedule they need to hit, hence non-team teamwork when a mechanical disaster happens.
I think the emphasis is on the down but there can defo be pedally uphill bits in a stage too
