Thread making me nostalgic for the CAAD10 disc (also with Challenge 28s) that some scumbag stole in January. One of the nicest riding bikes I've owned.

Ok I'm buying this from @suffolk_boii
I should be able to get an axle from @LeMesjeu
So my understanding is that when I get the non drive side arm off you would then tap the axle through with a rubber mallet which would come out attached to the drive side arm.
Thats of course when the axle isn't broken. My hope is that once the NDS arm is off i can tap the broken axle enough for it to be hitting the drive side piece of the axle and getting the drive side arm off.
Once the drive side arm is out, how do i remove the piece of axle thats attached to the drive side arm?
Can @PhilDAS or @LeMesjeu shed any light on this as it seems you both have experience with this chainset?
Any suggestions and ideas from others welcome too! I know this might not be the best place to ask these questions but figure theres two folk here who might have some pointers. -

You’re probably going to need a cannondale crank puller. Get one side off and if you can knock it through then happy days.
Wait and see how that goes before worrying 👍🏻 -

Hi PhilDAS thanks.
So I've seen one for £24 on a uk site. I've also seen some possibly dubious videos on youtube showing how to remove without one... I think for the sake of £24 its maybe better just to get one.So for talking sake, once I have the proper crank puller and a new axle, how do i get the broken axle off the other arm? Is it just a case of using the crank puller on that arm too?
Then is there another special tool needed to install the new axle onto the arm? or just a case of putting the axle into the end of the arm and doing up the bolt?
Sorry I feel like I'm maybe asking a lot of daft questions here - I've got zero experience of cannondale cranks or bb30. Long live threaded BSA...

Just take it to an LBS for the extraction if it's not obvious. Saves potentially expensive mistakes

I haven't tried but yes I think so.
Just grease and bolt it back together but be aware that the crank bolts need to be done to torque of 40nm which is quite significant and more than you can get with a small allen key

Thanks, this helps me visualise whats needed. I've got two torque wrenches one of which is a 'big' one and I'm sure goes above 40nm.

I have pulled my CAADs cranks off many times with the outside part of a normal crank extractor and a adjustable spanner. Just grease it up and take it easy!

And in contrast, I stripped the threads on a set of Hollowgrams by using a normal crank puller. Buy the right tool.

Ouch! To be fair I was not pulling off anything that I wouldn’t have been happy to replace. The basic one that comes on the CAAD X is just awful.

Thanks - Just shows its best to read the manual first! Clearly states the removal tool is used for both sides.
It's ... Better. I'm not sure how clear it is, because I've always paid other people to do it!
Last time was built @Chak maybe 2 years ago and it's still running fine since then, so maybe he has magic fingers.
It should have better clearance than the Rotor 24 one, although minus the sheathing. It's also set up hydro so probably a bit easier to pull the hose down out of the way
