Riding fixed without being clipped in just feels so odd now, and this is more of a “not quite Sunday best but I only ride it when I know I can leave it somewhere without locking it up on the street and only when it’s sunny” kinda bike

Agreed, but why not SPD/MTB pedals? At least you can walk around on those shoes, something you'll probably do a lot when it's a town bike.

Meh, I like the Time cleats and it takes a grand total of 12 seconds to change shoes haha. I see where you’re coming from, but having different pedals/shoes/cleats for different bikes seems like more of a faff
