  • If it's helpful to anyone else with an extra chunky rack and hence not much choice in panniers the Carradice adapter bar I posted on the previous page is now in stock and I just had a couple delivered. Fits my rack with ease and snaps on nice and tight with a spring loaded clip thing. For some reason the picture they use on the site makes it look about 5cm long but it's actually more like 30cm.

  • Anybody know of a front rack that fits like the Tim tas rek a head steerer rack but has more drop? Or anybody fancy making one for cold hard cash?

  • Rockbros ortlieb style knock offs, any good?

    These ones:

Sorry if it’s been covered before

  • I’ve always thought with Ortlieb you’re paying for the build quality and the fixings... those have neither.

  • Yeah, i don’t doubt that there will be a big gap in quality. Just wanted to know if anyone has them and thinks they are respectable -or a complete waste of money

  • Anyone used a Blackburn wayside handlebar bag? Looks just the right size for my commuting needs.

  • I have a Rockbros 10L saddlebag. Quality was good, it sways a lot though.

  • Should it be level? It was with the other forks...

  • Should it be level?

I don't think there is an objective answer, but I think it should be level personally.

Esthetics, level panniers (if you plan on using them), and stuff not sliding from the platform.

How Specialized set up their bikes and racks:

  • yep I see what you mean.
I'll need to have another go at it. It was kind of a tight fit with the p-clamps, but I could maybe rotate them so the bolt goes through at the back of the forks (not the front)

  • Posted first in another thread but probably more suited to this one.

Handlebar is 530 mm wide, my new-ordered fitness bike has 680 mm wide ones by default, tempts me as a cheap solution (cost about half the cost of Spec Pizza Rack), just not sure if it won't be too narrow.

  • Make the bike handle like shit, even empty. Had a bike in for repair last week which had one fitted, would not recommend.

  • I have a T-Level backpack. The teeth have gone on the zippers on the side.
Is there anywhere in London that does repairs for these kind of things?
I know it might be worthwhile getting an entirely new bag for the probably price of repair but I'm quite attached to it.

  • Does that mean the Orlowski forks are redundant?

  • Do Wald baskets (137, 139) fit 31,8 mm handlebar?

  • I’m 99% certain they do, Mrs TM has 31.8 bars and 1392z

  • for now, yes... though I've been having dreams of a dynamo light, so they may come in handy in the future...

  • When mounting a rack to canti mounts, will a nylon washer suffice between the canti and the rack? Or are those velo orange double ended bolts a better option?

  • Is there anything like the ILE bag avails in the UK? I've contacted bigxtop to see if he could make me something similar. I prefer the idea of a rack bag rather than the hard sided rando bags for riding around town.

  • Bigxtop was happy to do custom stuff, in the end I just ordered a rando bag.

It was 2 weeks Monday and no show, states within 2 weeks on the site.. getting bored of waiting, email says be out in the next few days...

    Check out naffsacks too

  • Sadly that's been my experience with him for the last few year, he used to be great.

  • Not here by Friday I’ll have having a refund.

  • Seems bag makers are constantly a victim of their own successes. Must take a business genius to make it into a sustainable thing. I'll ask naffsacks but hate that they don't have any pics of what they might build. I don't like sending a pic of someone else's design and asking bag makers to knock it off because that seems a bit insulting.

  • It’s f””king annoying.

I totally understand it’s a 2nd job for most, but that’s not fair on your customers paying hard earned cash for products you cannot provide.

Naffsacks were super helpful and made exactly what I wanted, just sent a rough sketch and measurements etc. Worth talking to!

  • Pretty sure SBC stock the ILE one?
