Am I missing something? Some kids were arrested for assaulting a police officer and the police pointed out that if they hadn't assaulted the officer, they wouldnt have been arrested because it was such a trivial amount of weed.

If the original reason for conducting the search was a suspicion of possession of drugs, there would have been no search in the first place if the drug laws were not so moronic.
