I'm not sure whether you mean do the renaming using Adobe Bridge or just renaming files generally (after Adobe Bridge has screwed up the filenames). If the latter, this is what I use for all my various renaming http://www.joejoesoft.com/vcms/108/

Is there some way to remove varying length suffixes from file names
For heavy lifting, I use https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk
For quick and dirty, I use AF5 from http://www.fauland.com/download.htm which will do "keep the first 6 characters"

Is there some way to remove varying length suffixes from file names using adobe Bridge, and just leave the first 6 characters?
