I've got that Wilfa which I use for v60 every day.
Pretty pleased with it!

I've got a wilfa too, also for v60. Works great, but on the other hand I haven't compared to anything

Another wilfa user here. It's great, small and relatively not ugly. As above, haven't compared it to anything but a hario hand grinder which was very good but too much faff for the amount I was using it.

Second hand Jura ena micro 1. I’ve had one since new for 5 years. Espresso only but I’d recommend it. Should be around £300 s/h

Finca La Fany and Bebeto Mamani
That's about the dumbest sounding names I have heard in this thread.
-
• #15382
The first is a farm and the second is literally someone’s name. So cool

Friend of mine just started a coffee van at Catford Station. If you're local give it a go, I've yet to find out what setup he's running but he's a top bloke so worth checking out as I'm sure it'll be on point.

You can probably get away with something a bit rougher/cheaper if you wanted, like a second hand Bodum Bistro grinder would come in under £100 easily and is a good looking grinder which doesn't take up too much room, although a bit noisy!
The Wilfa gets good review (plus says silent DC motor), and I think that website I linked gives out 10% code if you sign up to the mailing list.

Any reason why my V60 is taking ages to drain after the first half of the water has gone through? I have tried varying the grind size to no avail, and not sure what else to do? The only thing that has changed is that I've switched to own-brand Hario 02 papers (previously used the ones that came from Pact) - has anyone else had this problem?
-
• #15388
Uneven grind? Would wash 'powder' past 'boulders' and block the paper at bottom as described.

What vessel are you making the coffee in? I’ve had a few flasks creating a vacuum under the filter which has slowed down the pour. That usually makes it bubble as well though so pretty easy to spot
-

Changing filters had a slowing effect for me. Both were hario but slightly different (one like normal paper and another more spongy like kitchen paper). I had to change grind setting and coffee volume to get things the way I wanted them.
-
• #15391
Do you soak the filters before you use them?
-
• #15392
Yes, apparently there are different types of filter papers out there (including 3 different Hario ones) which can vary the time it takes to brew. I've had to adjust the grind quite a bit to adjust for this.

Good shout - probably the most likely issue. Will have to go back to pre-ground until I get a better grinder

• #15395
Have we had this yet? Squaremile and LMNH cap and coffee bundle.

• #15396
considering getting a portable grinder for when i go away - hario / rhino still the go-to ones? i don't suppose anyone has one knocking about they'd be willing to part with?

I have an unused crushgrind one from their kickstarter. Let me know if that's of interest.

SOLD
Awesome. Thanks! It's primary (if not exclusive) function will be for filter coffee made using a V60. Does that revise your recommendations!?
