I don’t think a small loaded basket puts a massive amount of strain on the fork. It’s already got to handle people (who could be very heavy) potentially hopping off curbs and generally abusing their bikes... how old’s the fork?

True, i'm not a heavy chap, so I should be ok! I don't know how old the fork is - got it from @Thrasher last week!
It is a Columbus Hiver fork, so probably not "old".

Ok thank you. I was asking more with respect to strength/structural rigidity of a carbon fork and it being safe?
But i guess if I am holding up to ~10kg then it should be ok?
