There are the "long" version.
-
• #20478
Mine too. Long only refers to the part of the guard that's at the 'top' of the tyre, the front (reach) of the guard if you will. Maybe the 650b version is just longer.

Change the red for black and take of the rim stickers, all is well.

Ha, that’s getting pretty similar to my Rawland.

Pics on this thread?

Agreed! These were just parts bin bits to get me rolling.

• #20484
That’s it.

Sweet as, you need silver finishing kit to match the guards and rack now though ;)
You getting much pedal strike?
-
• #20486
With these massive pedals, yes a bit but with a slightly smaller set of pedals it will be fine.

Got mudguards and a dynamo - routing through the fork leg was worth it but troublesome.

Unless you're having extreme heel strike issues, staighten that rack!

still need to wire up rear dynamo, and maybe fix the unseemly gap at the rear guard
but enjoying this bike a lot

Looks ace, what bars are these? I need the same I think..... can you measure from the clamp section to the front for me by any chance?
-
• #20492
You can see in the bottom photo.
They're Jones H-bars

Repost: http://whatbars.com
If they're Jones they're on there and it's about 200mm centre to centre

I’ll have a look at this - I have been commuting like that for a few months and now understand why my panniers keep sliding to the back of the rails. It will be a right pain to change now because of the rear dynamo cable routing! Bugger.

Damn, that won't fit, I need something that will allow the cable / hoses to clear my restrap bag.
Currently got Soma Clarence.
Also thinking about black cork grips, any recommendations?

Wider bars is the answer. Or lower the rack if poss.
-
• #20497
I see that you could lower your rack a little. Anywho, my exprience is that if you clear your bag your cables interfear with the bag flap opening and is anoying. It looks fine as is to me.
And about grips, if you planning long rides with a bar like that you should get proper ergo grips (also in cork) or maybe silicone ones. My experience with cork is that there to hard on long rides, my hands turn black and fall off after 3+ hours.

• #20498
Correct, I think I could, but I might need to flip the fork crown bracket.... or something.
I have cork ergo grips, I'll chuck them on and see what like.

Not sure where to put this or whether everyone knows about except me, but it is petty cool.

They do know:

(10 hours before your post):)
Pedals will be exchanged for some nice SPD / flats, hoses need shortened and I'm. Not sure about the bar angle / spacer stack at the moment, feels like it needs to be lower but then the levers interfere with my restrap front bag.....
Front flap is probably too close to the ground, around 1" clearance.
