  • I think gofundme is easy to set up.

  • can donate some parts. let me know what's needed.

  • Thanks, I tried with the Virgin one but it requires linking to a registered charity for fundraising. I’ll take a look at gofundme

  • I’m abroad so cant help physically but will donate a bit of money.

@PhilDAS good on you for doing this! Ask for as much help as you need, there seem to be plenty of people happy to support

    PayPal incoming

  • I’m in. My shop in N16 is a Frog dealer and they go up to aged 12 or so; a 64 (overall leg length, not seat tube length) frame with 26” wheels being the largest. Around the £300 mark retail. If that’s an option then let me know.

  • They’re fine, really. They have a longer wheelbase in proportion to the height for stability. They’re really well build and they’re light too.

  • Our 5 year old has a frog bike and like @jj72 says it's long for it's size. I think it's a good thing, it means that she's sitting comfortably and has room to steer but can still put her feet down without issue. Perhaps more important if you're 5 rather than 11, but I think it's a good design decision

  • Wow, what an awful story with a hopefully a positive outcome. Glad to hear your niece will be getting back on the bike. Happy to contribute parts, money, etc.

  • I've been following this on the Dangerous Drivers thread, horrible tale, I'll gladly bung a few quid into the pot for such a nice gesture.

  • Phil,
A donation from Amsterdam is on the way.

  • Donated. Frog bikes are good certainly at the younger end, my son learned to ride on one, was a great little bike...

  • Blown away already guys. Thank you all
Have now set up a gofundme at
    https://www.gofundme.com/getting-my-niece-amey-back-on-2-wheels&rcid=r01-154263386116-ce45b5eda88a4908&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_m
They do take a percentage but it seems like the easiest option since I’m not raising money for a registered charity. It’s 2.9% + £0.25
With that in mind I may not upload the already donated money to there but don’t want to be shady so here’s where my PayPal’s at.
    £121! Amazing

  • Done.

will she be accompanied for the first few rides to ensure she does get her confidence back?

  • Thank you!

I'll see to it, its a good point. I'll take the bike to her so will try to spend some time with her on it but I'll only be there for a few days. Her brother is a year older and is very protective of her. I'm sure he'll help out too, they're close and he likes getting out on his bike as well. I'll see if maybe my dad will dust off his ancient mtb to take his granddaughter out on her bike

  • Donated

  • Thank you.

The £400 goal on there is what I consider the cost to potentially be for the bike, not what I'm aiming to have donated. Anything at all is extremely appreciated and I'm going to buy the bike whatever happens.

  • And done!

  • Donated.
@PhilDAS Anything over the goal total could go to giving your neice a great Christmas

  • Thank you!
New helmet and lights will be an option too!

  • Really glad to hear she's on the mend.

My two have both had great times on Frog bikes, so I'd recommend that as an option. I've donated a little bit to the pot to help with whatever you think works best.

  • Thank you dude. Shame we don’t share a morning hello now that I’ve got a different commute!
    I’ll definitely look into them

  • I’ll contribute this lovely Dawes Super galaxy. I’m not sure if starting a new thread is best but if someone would like to make a donation to the cause of £250 the bike is yours.
It is in Reading so that might be a thing so I’ll need help getting it to someone.
It a 20 inch (51 cm) seat tube 22 inch (56cm) top tube. More details on request.
