Not your face but a avatar or representation of yourself to put on the board.

Have you seen the series 'Aggretsuko' on Netflix?

• #1354
No, why?

Ah shame. Well the main character is an office drone whose secret is loving death metal karaoke, which is visually represented as follows - this would be my representation of myself:

Hah yes - this show is awesome.

Hahaha thought this was directed at me. But yea, have watched that. Japanese have a decent sense of humour

Went for the Pinnacle Neon 1 after all. Paid for it yesterday online (10% off) at £337 and was going to collect it on Saturday.
It's now listed online as £260. Rang the branch (Wimbledon) and they couldn't give me a definitive answer, but the plan is to go and collect it and return it straight away (for a refund) and then buy it again for the lower price.
Any (ex-)Evans people see a problem with this?
(Some of the money saved will then get spent in the shop as I need some other bits.)

Bought one of these for my mum a while back. Great bike for £260 new.

Not only this, but if you buy from us and we later reduce our price we will refund the difference (as long as your request is within 7 days of purchase).
You'll get it for the cheaper price if you ask.

They should be able to price match the new price providing the order isn't shipped (collected)
If it's shipped they would have to refund and re-sale.
If it's through a hire scheme you would need to make up the value with other items from store or on-line.

Thanks. Bought outright by credit card, no hire scheme.

There should be no issue getting your money back if you don't want to spend it on other items then.
There's a few good deals gone up in store today as it's the beginning of the push towards black Friday though so it's worth a poke around.

Nope.
Said hi to Rob, that Californian looking geezer.

All sorted with no fuss. Someone in the shop mentioned this thread and said they had already applied the discounted price to my invoice and the partial refund was quickly sorted. Thanks!
The mudguards they had in stock in the shop only went up to 28mm and I've got some spare wheels with 35mm marathon winter spiked tyres in case of snow/ice and don't want to have to remove/refit mudguards as well as swapping wheels. Can't find any mudguards (full length with stays) for 35mm tyres online either, the few that are on the site are out of stock completely. Will move across my old knackered set from the current commuter and keep checking the stock.
Thought £375 was an OK price for this bike so definitely good value at £260. Might make me actually look forward to my commute!
Now have an afternoon of completely dismantling my old commuter (Gary Fisher Nirvana) and moving over a load of stuff (pedals, rack, mudguards, dynohub wheel, front/rear lights, etc). Most of the rest will go to the tip as it's almost all worn out. 8yo daughter is going to help and hopefully learn how various bits of bikes work.

"An administrators’ proposals document revealed that PwC concluded “almost all the stores were profitable” but the company was “burdened” by fixed costs at its head office."
"Evans had debts of £85m when it failed, with secured lenders HSBC and AIB owed £28m and private equity firms due £33m.
Unsecured creditors such as suppliers and the taxman were owed £24m and can expect to receive only 2.5p in every £1 owed. Bike manufacturers Specialized and Trek were owed £3.9m and £1.9m respectively."

2.5p for every £1?! That’s scandalous.

The number of road bike for sales shrink rather dramatically to just 233 (for reference, they used to have over 300 new 2019 model bicycles in September).

How will Evans now get deals with the bike manufacturers?
Unless they honour their debts.

• #1372
Agree a repayment plan, pay up front for new stock.
-
• #1373
That would be such a cash hungry business!
-
• #1374
Yep, I don’t think it’s a viable business model.

They weren't the only one, they did had issues with "invoices" with Brompton and Madison to the point a lots of workshop were unable to service bicycles without the components from Madison.
The fuck?
