Is it possible to use the Carradice bagman quick release on its own, or do you have to have a wire thingy going round as well? I would only be putting light stuff in the seatpack anyway (mostly clothes perhaps lunch) Basically can I just use the widget below:

I have the QR clamp for ease of removal; because I have a pannier rack I just let my Camper Longflap rest on the rack. My Barley I'd be fine attaching without a rack - you might find a toestrap round the seatpost quicker/easier than the Carradice buckle fixing.
