  • transferring across a bluetooth connection.

How do you transfer a gpx file over bluetooth on Wahoo?

  • Pair it to your phone, select the route on the Wahoo app and press select.

  • Nice one!

I emailed wahoo technical support complaining about that before. But pathetic they didn’t know!? Not much technical support.

  • What! Wahoo couldn't tell you?!

  • No.

  • Thanks. Are there other ways to transmit a gpx file? The OP wrote that this method is buggy.

  • you can get the GPX file direct from strava/RWGPS/komoot if your device is connected to wifi

Otherwise, via USB. This is the most reliable method.

  • Otherwise, via USB.

    Thanks

  • Anyone else had an issue where when you zoom in on the map, all the lines get way thicker & no extra detail is added? Never used to have this problem, but it started after the update before last I think. A bit annoying as it's unusable for navigation when it's like that & I have to just zoom out to the level where the lines are the correct thickness. Might try redownloading UK maps.

  • If the wahoo is athlete aimed, why can’t you see a list of previous efforts and their powers. I’ve 5x5 to to do today. I want to be able to see what power I had for each effort to see the decline rate.
    Can do that on Garmin...

  • If each one is a lap you can look at them individually at the end of a ride AFAIK

  • End isn’t much use. Want to see during the ride, so I can determine how many reps to do, using % drop of poor from 1st.

Yeah the app shows then all, once ride has ended and synced.

  • I’ve set the lap screen to show at least the previous effort. Not sure if it can display more than the previous & current though.

  • Yeah I’ve got that. Np/ap for previous. Just so archaic to not be able to view historic lap power. Such useful info.

  • Given it doesn’t have micro sd. If the Bluetooth won’t transfer you’re fucked.

You're treating it like a Garmin expecting it to fail regularly.

  • True. But I have heard a handful of stories of them failing now. Granted that’s a small % but it’s some.
It’s more than as it won’t transfer big gpx files. I’ll try some sizes and see what it transfers.

  • I have done big files such as a 340km in one go and work successfully, admittedly not tried beyond 400km yet.

  • Currently working my way through a 247km Paris to Dieppe gpx file on an Elemnt. Seems fine so far. OK, so in current company 247km is a short warm-up ride, but it seems like a long way at the moment.

  • I've definitely loaded and followed a 400k track in one go without trouble. I've recorded over 600 as one track too, but for those sort of distances splitting them up is better psychologically. I would be surprised if it failed to cope with a route of that length though.

Obviously TCR is a different matter, but for regular longer distance stuff I've stopped worrying about GPS failure. For a while after moving over from Garmin I'd have back-up paper route sheets and save tracks halfway and so on, but I trust it sufficiently that I don't even bother with this anymore.

  • Got a bolt on the 24th of April. Cycled to work today with no problems put my bike in the basement and put it in my bag then went upstairs got changed. Sat down at my desk and pulled it back out and low and behold the screen is fucked. fucking cunt since its a long weekend and a sunny one at that so now computer I also bought the bundle so everything has to go back now. What are the chances that wiggle try and say i dropped it (which i haven't and there is no damage to the outside at all.)

  • I had a bit of a weird screen problem on my bolt after a few months, like a few lines of dead pixels. Returned to wiggle with no fuss and got a replacement which has been perfect. Also I asked how much of the bundle I needed to return and they said 'as much as you can' so I just sent back the head unit.

  • The screen had lines up and down and now nothing and leakage at the bottom no marks on it so fuck knows what happened to it. I did have to pull a stunt and kinda bunny hop a pot hole but the shake from that should be nothing for what is designed to be a cycle computer.

  • Have a Wahoo in the house now.

First fail - it couldn't handle my >30 char wifi password, or some char within it.
First plus - the screen looks nice

  • First fail - it couldn't handle my >30 char wifi password, or some char within it.

    Skinny and hippy, Wahoo-busters

  • 1025km work without a hitch.
