If it gets replacements likely to be a new set of SKS, had some hammered guards on another bike and they were really prone to bending - with the nature of the bike / s&s couplings etc I prefer the springiness of plastic over the deforming nature of alu guards. You’ve convinced me though, will fit some new ones.
It’s the tiny wheels that kills it for me. Functional though.

This looks great - better on gumwalls though! Any pictures of the 'steelwalker' behind?

I guess my current project is getting myself settled and employed in Sydney. Glad I decided to bring my bike over.. 'heaps keen' for a ride if any forumites are around these parts?

Make sure to check the frame for cracks and other structural damage. There might be a good reason it was thrown out.

Check the crank too, couple of teeth may be worn.

It really does! :) is like “new” even has a front dura ace hub! All looks ok! Appart from the saddle and grips, it has a stripped left crank arm so I need to see how to get it out even tho I could just leave it there

Clean!! Very nice find. Put slicks or semis and ride as is?

Sorry, I was just joking. Maybe get a two legged puller on the left arm though ... the gap looks big enough judging by the photos.

i will try to spend the minimum possible to get it rideable so for now these tires will stay, have to look for a saddle (i have a old scuffed turbo that could be ok) and maybe a lighter seatpost from the parts bin if i have any
maybe putt the crank back on and leave the left side with the threads damaged (this will prevent me from selling the bike cause i would never sell something damaged, unless the person does not care of course)
will have to clean up all the shifter cables also, suuuuper gunked up
the brakes have a nice felling and seem to work, maybe i should also upgrade the pads for longer ones, i will see if the braking power is ok once its rideable
bike is on the heavy side tho... -

i know! i did not mind! it was funny!
it would definitely work if i use this two legged puller, just have to find one!
what would you do with the stripped crank arm? its a shame to trash it... -

what would you do with the stripped crank arm?
If it's just stripped extractor threads, you don't need to do anything. It will come off fine with a gear puller on the rare occasions when you need to remove it, the rest of the time it doesn't matter.

perfect! thats what i thought! would just have to warn the potential buyer about the "problem" eventually
This biek deserves nice mudguards imo. It's ace!
