  • It's more settings and stuff where the indexed wheel lets me increase/decrease (or whatever) incrementally, rather than the touch sensitive mac mouse which is kind of like trying to keep a cat in a bath.

  • Is it for stuff like increase / decrease brush size? I've always used the buttons top right on the keyboard but perhaps the scroll wheel is better and I've missed it completely as I'm always on a wacom / mighty mouse?

  • it's funny, now i'm trying to think where it is i find a wheel better, i can't think of any specific examples :-)
    I'm doing a bit of photoshop/aftereffects stuff at the moment (making parallax motion clips out of stills) and just panning around in both applications is much more accurate if i use a wheel instead of my magic mouse, which tends to land me right over the other side of the canvas rather than a little to the left, for instance. I'm probably just clumsy, though.
