I use a cheap optical wheel mouse - do lots of scrolling through options and stuff in adobe applications and the touch sensitive Mac mice are shit for that.

I find the wheel of the microsoft one I posted very good.

Is this because Adobe has built its own system for dialogues etc? I really struggle with the non-standard save dialogue, see no reason to change it from standard osx

New iPad Pro is £825 here, so I shall pull the trigger I think.
Anyone want a 32Gb WiFi and cellular iPad Pro with the keyboard and the pencil, for £300? It’s all in great condition bar the keyboard, which I’d say is in good condition- but as it does double duty as a case it’s a little worn. Pencil was replaced under warranty earlier this year.

Did some reading for you... those CPU's in the Mac minis are defo desktop ones (some people try and claim they are mobile) but with a power draw limit applied so they can be used in smaller spaces (Mac minis, big laptops). They are going to be dead powerful, although saying that the latest gen of mobile CPU's are not far behind.
I think you should get one maxed out 15inch MBP for on the go editing and showing you mean business when on shoots/in the coffee shop a couple of minis, and a couple of eGPUs with Vega cards (oh totally get the Vega in the MBP too -new upgrade option).macOS supports multiple eGPUs natively, a mini with 2 Vega 64's would be crackers.

It's more settings and stuff where the indexed wheel lets me increase/decrease (or whatever) incrementally, rather than the touch sensitive mac mouse which is kind of like trying to keep a cat in a bath.

Is it for stuff like increase / decrease brush size? I've always used the buttons top right on the keyboard but perhaps the scroll wheel is better and I've missed it completely as I'm always on a wacom / mighty mouse?

it's funny, now i'm trying to think where it is i find a wheel better, i can't think of any specific examples :-)
I'm doing a bit of photoshop/aftereffects stuff at the moment (making parallax motion clips out of stills) and just panning around in both applications is much more accurate if i use a wheel instead of my magic mouse, which tends to land me right over the other side of the canvas rather than a little to the left, for instance. I'm probably just clumsy, though. -

This is why I don't buy fucking LaCie drives.
Picked one up for a client. Came with some install software thing which I ignored and tried formatting. Only all I was seeing was a 400mb partition of 2tb. Now I can't seem to get access to the 2TB no matter what way I format and LaCie don't offer the software on their site.
Any solutions? Need to copy files tonight.
Edit: May have a solution - in Disk Utility show clicking View brings up different options include show all devices instead of just volumes. Still. Tossers. G-Tech4lyf.

Gparted is probably the best solution to just wipe it all and start again.

Yeah, “show all devices” for that sort of thing.

Hmmm.. those vegas are 1050ti level, so it'll be an improvement I believe, now much. I couldn't be certain... not enough data out there atm. Might as well buy one though. I just bought a Vega 56.

Ok, I've just done a wipe-and-reinstall on my MBP as it had been a while. I've just reinstalled all the Adobe stuff - there really wasn't much else in the way of big apps on it and I keep all my docs/working files etc on external drives. I've saved 70gb - what the heck was that being used for?!

• #13522
Fuck knows but I have the same thing. Clean install, 50gb back, then gone in a few weeks. For me, I think it's dropbox's smart sync that isn't smart enough

I have lost my new Apple Pencil. Sad face.

The wife bought one and has so far used it about 5 times. Not lost it yet though so that's a plus i guess.
