I was wondering Oasis or terrible rom-com?

I thought as much. Not sure if that's worse than liking Blur or not...

Well it really really really could happen.

So is this the thread for our season-ending drinks?
https://www.lfgss.com/events/4391/
Also could we talk about maybe moving the rides to another weeknight? I'm getting killed out here by my wife's Thursday evening schedule.

maybe moving the rides to another weeknight?
What is your weapon of choice?

Tuesday? (I am not purposely trying to be old school). Wednesday also good, but also has potential for getting gazumped. Monday fine, but might be emotionally unappealing to the group? Friday fine too, but feels like roads and trains would be rowdier.

I shall float the proposal for a Tuexit Referendum in the pub tonight*
*This makes you youramericanfarage of the TUKIP party though..

Perhaps we could be a little more flexible on day of the week. I do like Thursday as its easy to be useless on a Friday. I'd rather not be hanging on Saturday on my own time, or muddle my way through Wednesday as my post ride performance would be less professionally acceptable...
Alternate Tuesday / Thursday. Added bonus that the mudflaps will still make sense.

Season-ending dinner/drinks: yes. I should apologize btw because you voiced a desire for having it in a more convenient place than Wests and still this happened. (We can also have an additional, more central gathering. I won't be the one saying no to two drinks rather than one.)
Moving the day: I like Thursday because, actually, it fits nicely with other things happening during the week and as Scrabble pointed out being slightly dazed and confused is easier to do on a Friday. Now with that in mind, I am not absolutely opposed to moving it, as it's still a bi-weekly event after all. I think I'd prefer Tuesday if we were to change it.
I would however be opposed to making the day flexible as it's good to have some form of ritual or more prosaically a schedule on which you can rely and around which other things can be planned.

End of season dinner and drinks
They will again be a merger with West's birthday, at the Red Lion in Ealing, on the 15th of November. Thread is >>> here <<<. More than happy to do a feeder ride from Central, and I ardently hope to be riding back with @middleofnowhere , trying to keep up with him and his bluetooth speaker.

Good plan - count me in for the additional central/northerly drinks suggestion (29th?).

Dan, I afraid the general consensus seems to be that your missus must appear before the court of arbitration to plead her case for Thursdays.*
*The fact that the entire crew is practically dead at their desks this morning is unlikely to further her/your cause I suspect - but let's discuss at drinks..

Fair. Got to go with what the group wants.

I guess last night was a bit of a tuff one?
Does that mean I can't tempt anyone with a Saturday ride? -
• #319
Depends what you have in mind, I'd be up for some riding this weekend.
-
• #320
I don't have a particular route in mind, something around 40/50k. I'm in Hackney Wick but could meet/train to anywhere if you know a nice Saturday ride?

Cool, will pm so as to not spam this space!

Bad news for Chingford based routes. Less than one week after I leave the borough, the Station House pub has shut. I was only in there last Friday, moved Saturday and this week it’s boarded up.

I have a soft spot for it because we could bring our bikes in, and obviously great memories of chat and its well-kept mild, but it was a crap pub with terrible beer.
-
• #324
You sure you haven't orchestrated this due to your aversion to Epping High Rd?
-

I'd take my chances on Epping High Road. The Mild though....
It doesn't look so cold from here.
