Use Park FR-7 to remove Shimano Freewheel Y/N?

  • So apparently the Park FR-1 (Shimano tool) shouldn't be used to remove a Falcon freewheel, because Falcon freewheels have larger splines than Shimano ones. Makes sense.

But, can I use the Park FR-7 (Falcon tool) to remove a Shimano freewheel?

I'd have thought that the other way around should be fine since the tool is, if anything, too large rather than too small.

My FR-7 is snug in this Shimano freewheel rn and I'm tempted to give it a knock with this hammer ...

    Continue y/n?

Yes, I'm being lazy and trying to save time and money buying another tool.

  • Hey it’s future you - just go for it it’ll work fine, you’ll see.

  • Thanks future me
