Need to replace the car. Pondering a Cat N (what was Cat D). Written off by insurer, but non structural damage only.
I know precious little about cars.
Internet opinion suggest that AA or RAC giving something the once over prior to buying is often a complete waste of money.
So, as a relative punter, do I just avoid Cat D or N's. Do I find a mate that knows a bit more than me...
As long as it’s a) fully repaired and has been inspected to prove it and b) at least 30% cheaper than an equivalent vehicle of the same age/mileage/spec then go for it
