Any reason why I should not buy the ATH-SPORT70BT or ATH-SPORT50BT?
They seem to tick all the boxes for what I want and at £61 for the 70BT or £39 for the 50BT it’s a decent deal I think? -
• #1730
Ah that makes sense. And yes they’re butters but got good reviews. Momentum’s sounds a good choice

Ended up getting these:https://www.richersounds.com/pioneer-on-ear-closed-back-mic-wireless-bluetooth-headphones.html
Wireless is okay-maybe a bit flat, but wired is great-proper hi res and much punchier. Pretty decent for the sale price anyway, hopefully they will see me through many a boring work hour of CAD and 3D renders...

..they do look "chunky"!

Dunno really-no bigger than the Sennheisers or Sony ones I tried and comfier.
Fake leather earpads tho :(

Any suggestions for in-ear headphones with a short cable. Something to use with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07D8K76F4/ without loads of excess cable
-
• #1736
all IEMs cables usually standard length 1.2m, no?
-
• #1737
The vast majority are (hence the question). For instance, I got some of these years ago that are 60cm https://www.amazon.co.uk/Denon-AH-C360-Ear-Stereo-Earphones-Silver/dp/B002KG46Y8 but I can't spot anything similar now.

I need some help from people in the know. I've done some research and concluded that one of these two is the best option for me for in-ear bluetooth headphones. Is one obviously better than the other? Or is there a different pair that I'm ignoring that is better than both!?

Cheers, that could be an option, not sure if I'll look quite like that though. Finding headphones that take mmcx cables seems awkward though, googling mainly brings up the cables rather than the headphones, and particularly as I'm looking at the cheap end of the market. More searching I guess.

I've found some headphones with a detachable cable at home but not quite sure if they are mmcx or not. Google image search is inconclusive, does anyone have any headphones with an MMCX cable where they could post a close up of one of the ends so I can see if it matches what I have. Cheers
-
• #1742
mmcx - kinda round socket thing, like so
and two-pin (0.78mm most common type) connector is 2 pins
-
• #1743
Is that top one the earphone end or the cable?
I have
and
which I'm not convinced is the same.
-
• #1744
yep, not the same
looks more like coaxial power connector, or something
P.S top one - cable end

Anyone successfully managed to update the firmware on a pair of Bluetooth headphones?
My Mpow Petrels have survived a surprising amount of abuse over the past three years so I reckon they have been great value so far.
But now the headphones refuse to speak to my new Iphone X. Pending a response from their support, Mpow are either a decent company or another vendor of short lived Chinese gadgets. -
• #1746
Cheers. I suspected they were different.
Next question then I guess, does anyone have any recommendations for in-ear headphones with interchangeable mmcx cables that aren't too pricey? All the cheap Amazon ones appear to have zero reviews.

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought some 2nd hand Shure 315's and am stunned by the quality. Although I've never had anything better than UR Beats previously, these Shure are almost as good as my old Leak valve amp stereo set up.
Cheers! Just checked them out, but my dad's decided he only like wireless since he tried out a cheap pair from Amazon. Also he prefers over ear rather than on ear because he wears glasses.
Decent deal though!
