I try to keep them separate even used a bucket. Mrs B doesn't like the fact she has to buy Non Bio.

I was mine separately with Grangers performance wash.

A proper wash is too damaging in my experience. I've practically ruined jackets before washing them, even with proper nikwax etc.
Now I just wash any dirt off with a wet cloth when/if needed.

Do you guys wash your waterproof jackets with your normal clothes? I normally use non bio washing liquid and wash my clothes at 30 degrees anyway... Been thinking it seems a bit of a waste of water and effort to wash a single jacket on its own...
