I have an 853 Paul Donohue with a teardrop downtube & very similar top tube (ovalised with flat top/bottom) - never seen a bike like it until this post! Mine rides absolutely superbly & I bet this does too.
As an aside, I have a Graham Weigh which was built by Paul Donohue too, this is almost certainly his work too. Worth checking out this thread.
