Ocon was just a little risky though even with unlapping - i think the rules state that when unlapping yourself it must be clear and risk free to the driver ahead - something like that anyway.
as for Bottas and the conversations we have been having about him - for me now, he's done - no.2 driver next year - these races post-title-win are his chance to shine, come race day he doesnt have it in him for whatever reason. he's no WDC..... so merc will keep him knowing it keeps harmony in the team for 1 more year, then i think both his and hamiltons contracts are up, so we'll see where things go
IIRC i think the merc team management (lauda toto etc) contracts are all up then too, and i believe merc has stated in the past the commitment to F1 at a board level was up until 2020/21 when the bernie agreements were all finishing....
