  • I'm loving this. Keep the photos coming please.

  • It is a yoke I made. Monster clearance but it makes no sense as the seat stays are still tight

  • As you wish my lord

  • So dope. The raw steel and heat marks match the blue frame surprisingly well

  • I dont have time to do the brazing today. I will have to finish that on Monday :(

I had a lot of fun doing this although TIG welding this thin steel is annoying. Can't wait till I get better at it :)

  • Rad!

  • Amazing!

    Watching this closely.

  • The question is what do I do with this?

It is actually too small for me. It is the 58 and not a 60 as I first thought. Headtube is only 140mm and I normally like 200-220mm

I could swap top tube and headtube etc. But then I might as well just build something else.
I will bring some wheels to work Monday and see what I can fit in. Maybe it makes sense doing a wishbone seatstay to allow mega big tyres

  • The question is what do I do with this?

    Dibs <3

  • Rowdy. Welds starting to look somewhat better? Practice makes perfect. Keep it up!

  • Dibs the fork :D

  • It is a bit shit to be honest.

I am thinking about removing the dropouts and flipping them so they are safer maybe smoothen those welds.

  • Woooh ! That's very very nice ! Make me think of this l'esperance frame https://www.flickr.com/photos/phofos/15646393305

  • Yes. It was exactly Jdgesus and that bike I had in mind. I was first tempted to do a Hunter Cycles type yoke, but then decidedI wanted to make something more simple.

  • The stable as it stands.

As the GT Edge CX didn't pan out as an geared gravel grinder I am thinking about swapping out the dropouts on my sscx and give it disc brakes. The neon TRP Revox brakes could then go on the rando bike for style and a bit of VMB action... the Sim Works stem would also suit that build with the Zoom seat post. The GT Ruckus ssmtb will go Tommy parents summer house. The road bike stays as it is except for the addition of a saddle :) the G-Ones set up tubeless are perfect for the type of road riding I do in the summer.

  • Fatties Fits Fine... And then some. I am wondering what to do with the seat stays.

  • It looks like the forks can run 55mm tyres but I am not sure mudguards will fit as well...

  • You don't have the choice :

  • :)

Good news is that cranks will be fine. Without a BB but laying flat on the BB shell it just touches the chain stay. A 38T clears easily.

  • What would the biggest possible chainring be?

  • Yoke looks like a tuning fork. What tone does play?
