What is your favorite handlebar tape?
SRAM Super Cork, Deda Traforato, whatever is on special offer or comes in a colour I like.

Thanks tstr.
I didn't think I was that bothered by colour, but the 46T comes in black and 46x11 still gives me a comfortable 53km/h at 100rpm which is probably enough for getting to work :-)

Is there a What Multitool thread?
Need something new, needs to have a chain tool. -
• #94509
My chain is bunching/slipping under acceleration - not skipping gears but losing traction on the cassette. It feels like it's jumping through the mech all at once. The leading pedal drops about an inch, two or three times per stroke, when I try to accelerate.
SRAM Red mechs and chainrings and SRAM cassette are all the same age and not obviously sharky/worn out. Chain is new (and I've tried taking out a few links, which hasn't helped).
What's my next step to try and resolve this? And is there an order in which I should replace parts in order to solve the problem before replacing the whole drivetrain?

Probably something topeak, the alien rx I stole off my brother a decade or so ago is still going strong and all the more recent stuff of their's I've seen seems as good.

New chain on used cassette? That'll be your problem.

Ah crap, I guess I need a new cassette then?
-
• #94515
Probably. Unless your free hub is busted or something or it's slipping on the chain rings.
FWIW you can use new chains on non-new cassettes but once part of the cassette is worn to a certain point you have to bin it.
You could ID the cogs that are slipping and just replace those but who has time for that.

Probably, and one of these. If you put a new chain on before the old one has worn out the cogs, you'll save a bit in the long run.

Is there a "what light" thread?
I'm wondering whether to buy some rechargeable batteries for my Hope Vision 1, or to buy a whole new light (e.g. something by Exposure).
-
• #94518
Probably the cassette but is it doing this on both chain rings? If it’s only one, before a new cassette You could try flipping the chain ring around if the slipping stops it’s a worn chainring

guys, i've been gettting some dropped chains, i think the chain cant be made shorter and my derreilleur is an old deore one, working with 10 speed ultegra , shifting is fine!
what would you do to prevent this problem? (keeping 1x)
would you go Narrow wide? Narrow wide oval? or 1X dedicated ring not narrow wide.
I am asking for the best/cheap option! This Hope has good reviews

Any recommendations for a bluetooth mouse?
Needs scroll wheel, back and forward buttons (either tilting the scroll wheel or on the side) and extra buttons would be a bonus.
All buttons need to work without installing extra software (or at least software can be installed without being an Administrator).
Preferably under £25.
