This thing is a rocket. It’s Rose’s highest specification road race bike (there’s a disc version of it too but this is the lighter rim brake version). It’s a new design frameset and it’s had rave reviews. I’ve not had it long (late on in the Summer), but it’s blown me away how good it is.
As you can see from the above my preference is for steel frames, but I’ve had a few high end carbon frames over the years, and this is undoubtedly the best of the bunch. It’s a total weapon. If I still raced I’d definitely be keeping this, but I’m a lot more MTB focused these days, so this hasn’t been spared from the road bike cull.
This is a very high end bike. The cheapest complete bike Rose do with this frameset is £3900 and these are direct sale bikes like Canyon so a lot of bike for the money.
Mine has Giant SLR carbon tubeless clincher wheels (these were £1k when I bought them new about 18 months ago) and they have Schwalbe Pro One tubeless 25c tyres. The rear is set up tubeless but the front got a puncture I couldn’t repair so that now has a tube in it as the tyre is otherwise perfect. I’ve found these wheels to be very light and responsive, and there the first time I’ve run tubeless on the road, which I really like. They’ve never missed a beat.
The groupset is SRAM Force 11 shifters/mechs with a high end KMC chain, Shimano cassette (Ultra I think) and Campag Centaur brakes. All seen very little use. Thomson post and stem, Pro bars, I’d like to keep the saddle so that’s not included in the sale. The bar tape is not the neatest job in my opinion, but not so bad that I’d replace it before it’s had some wear. It’s just a bit thick for my liking. I’ve only ridden this frame for 250 miles from brand new. Lots of the components were new for this build but most were lightly used by me before they were transferred to this new frameset. In short it rides and looks very much like a nearly new bike.
The 170mm Quarq chainset and Absolute Black rings are also relatively new, probably less than 750 miles including the 250 on this bike.
If you wanted it with the Quarq then I’d want £xxxx* for the whole lot (without pedals and saddle). Or if you didn’t want the Quarq I’d do it for £xxxx* without a chainset.
