. I think the hardest thing will be getting a bike space as I think most trains from York to London will be LNER which requires bookings.

Is tres easy though. I booked some train reservations this morning at KGX. Gave the nice man the train times, got reservations and tickets, didn't even have to pay for the privilege. Obvs I'd bought my 1st Class Advance tickets for myself well in advance.

It's easy as long as there are spaces on the train. I assume that there will be quite a few other groups planning on leaving York around the same time. I had to be quite flexible when travelling up to Newcastle when the nationals were on.
