So I got a pair of 27.5 Mavic XA Elite wheels for < £300 new with warranty, tyres, tape and sealant. These are 25mm internal and good up to 2.5” according to Mavic.
I’m unming and ahhhing about keeping them. BPW killed the bearings in the stock wheels on my habit so I have to do something here and the formula hub has been a fucking pain in the ass.
These look great and are pretty normal for Mavic - standard spokes and tapped rather than the sealed rim bed from yore. The tyres look Ok - somewhere between a rocket Ron and hans dampf but probably not much use right now.
Thoughts?
