So so many people using licorice locks to “secure” really nice bikes out in the sticks it’s unreal. This morning I came back to the station see about 4 like this. The tool they used to pry it open was left; it was a piece or road sign post about 1ft long, so barely a lever at all! I told someone this morning who was using a lock like that and pointed to all the other broken ones and they basically told me to mind my own business-WAC. Glad I didn’t switch out to a lighter lock and still use my kyrptonite New York.

There is a classic "lone wheel locked to a fence" outside the Hootenanny in Brixton.
The fail is that the d-lock just goes round two spokes.
For the sake of cutting two spokes, the thief could have had a ridable bike.
Ways not to steal a bike?

so new it still has the tag on!
presumably the rider's theory is that the bollard's tip would stop the lock being lifted over the top? the left hand drive cars suggest this isn't london.... somewhere less thievey?
big fan of the mini velo. would ride / would do a better job of locking up

Without a doubt the most bizarre and worst attempt at locking with a D lock I've ever seen.

Left the helmet in the pannier too, for the safety-conscious thief.
