I always yield to horses whether on Moto or pushbike for the reasons above.
They are big skittish fuckers that could crush you with a well aimed kick.
Ain't nobody got time for that.

In a perfect world I would not (accidentally) tread any kind of shit into my house. Human, dog, horse, bird, insect (???), mollusc, etc. But I understand that dog shit and horse shit are different.

I saw some dogs that looked like cows the other week, didn't see them shit though.

Maybe a dog that looks like a horse that looks like a cow.

They are probably riding on the road because it’s the only way to get to the land where they can ride safely and quickly and generally do horse stuff.
It’s not like they can put the horses on the roof of their car and drive them there.

What I don't get is the fluorescent 'horse and rider' waistcoats, like a fucking great horse is easy to miss......
This nearly saved my bacon a few weeks back to be honest. An absolute bollock of a human was wearing one as she was walking down the grass verge at the side of the road in front of me. I didn't think much of it until there was a gap in the hedgerow to my left and out of it ambles a gigantic fucking horse. I slowed right down and asked the rider (at a shout) why she wasn't controlling the 500 kilo bastard animal, and she informed me that it was blackberry season and I should help her pick the hedgerows. I was so shocked.

People that ride their bikes on to the pavement to go around red lights.
Rather than just breaking the law once and jumping the red, you've decided to jump the red anyway whilst also illegally riding on the pavement. Idiots.
-
• #2266
And in that vein, moped couriers who get off and push mopeds through pedestrian only areas, through red lights, over ped crossings.
Edit: this one probably would be better in the I Hate thread
-
• #2267
Maybe with mopeds it's a bit much, but I've never really got why it annoys people when cyclists do it... doesn't seem to inconvenience, endanger or affect anyone else.
-
• #2268
That's not really the point. Using Heroin doesn't endanger anyone else but its still illegal haha.
But anyway, it does when there's high viz warriors blasting down the pavement at road speeds when there are pedestrians trying to walk there safely.
Then they at some point have to rejoin the road so again, endangering other road users as they jump down the curb into traffic after the lights and HTFU, ride faster if you're late.
Its basically just pointless and illegal. Obey the law like everyone elsehas tois supposed to. -

A good example for why I don't respect laws just because they're laws. And, to stray further from the subject, that in turn is a reason for why I decided army service was not a good fit for me, so I did the alternative civilian service instead.

Ah no, I mean the walking your bike across on the green man phase. Cycling on the pavement is definitely a dick move.
And the heroin trade does cause a fair bit of inconvenience and danger to others... :)

Yes, because it is illegal.
-
• #2272
The addiction and destroyed families are probably not down to legality but I get your point.
-
• #2273
Yeah fair.
I didn't say it was irrational, just that I don't get it, like why you'd bother. Personally -
• #2274
They should make it legal like booze and cigarettes that don't do any harm.
(Just highlighting the false equivalence trap that is coming...)

Well, a family member used to be heavily addicted to heroine (now clean, thankfully). A good part of the 'destroyed family' etc. thing was down to the criminality necessary to fund the addiction, and it being more difficult and a higher hurdle to be open about it / get help. As the whole thing is illegal, and therefore expensive, and therefore fuelling criminal endeavours which means people tend to keep the lowest profile possible as the police would very much like to nab them.
Heroin is not a fun thing, but it being illegal is about as damaging as the addiction is in the first place.
