As a non vegan, how to indentify if this is vegan friendly??

There's only oil and wheat in it, so it's vegan.
Whether it's ethical - due to all the palm oil of dubious provenance - is another matter.

Thanks, the calcium made me wonder if the flour might have been altered.
Anyone have a good pot roast for dumplings recipe? I have done chestnuts I’m eager to use as well...

Most flour in commercial products is fortified like that for extra nutrition in our appalling Western diet.

Got a nice recipe for a chicken and wild mushroom cobbler that we usually make without the chicken (or with seitan). Would be nice with chestnuts and dumplings for sure. Will dig it out

Thanks. Cooking for a vegan friend and also trying to reduce the amount of meat I’m eating.

Tried the Heck beetroot sausages this evening, quite spicy!
Have the Pie Ministry vegan options to try this week too. -

Just replace the scones with dumplings and I'd make it a bit saucier and use less flour if you want more stew/give the dumplings more moisture to cook in

Just been into the local Sainsburys in Reading, they have Koko dairy free for 25p a litre! Use by the end of the month. Don't know if just this store or a nationwide thing.
The lady on the till didn't believe me until I showed her the ticket from the shelf. -

My recent bargain was 1L Provamel soya milk for 31p at Holland & Barrett. Even better that it's European soya and CO2 neutral (apparently)

so the vegan mince by Naturli - Mrs EB liked it, I thought it had a weird aftertaste - maybe the umami they added? it did brown like real mince in the pan......
I dunno - jury is out - I'd see what the burgers are like I guess

The one in the centre of town, on Broad St. They were off to check it wasn't a mistake when I left but I was hoping it might be a legit promotion.

Exactly my experience. Its that aftertaste that I can’t define, it think it’s the mushroom 🍄

I went into my local Iceland half hoping I'd find the No Bull vegan things and after searching through the aisles of frozen chips and pizza nearly gave up but then discovered a whole vegan section.
Nice surprise/changed perceptions/10

Thanks sorry missed this before.
For risotto olive oil instead of butter??
-

My local one's the same as well... they had the No Bull burgers with the rest of the vegi stuff... now a whole bloody fridge... and kudos to Iceland for cutting out palm oil

What could I use instead of the eggs in this:
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/media/bc_files/izonedocs/recipes/IZ_RECIPE_ENERGY_BARS_2017.pdfAny other recommendations for vegan energy bars for on bike also welcome :)
I saw it in sainos Brockley recently.
Did a double take.
Furiously perused ingredients list.
Felt weird about how realistic it looked.
Then put it back in the fridge.
Should really have bought it I suppose.
