is it because he is a fake Frenchman?

Bird call all the way.
Does the job perfectly to call my kids, grab attention of road users and drivers when they do crap.
I'll stick to that.

Ask for any advice on the forum r.e. parts/accessories and you can guarentee the answer is the most expensive option. 50 sheets for a bell?!?!
-
• #207
bird call is free. Just squawk like a bird.

Did you stray into the bill thread, by any chance?

Lion Bellworks is nice and loud, and under £20, but more classic/retro look than silicon valley sleek.

I had a Crane bell that worked quite well (until the bike it was on was stolen). It was only about £15. Is the Spur really that much better? Are there any decent bells that make a continuous "brrrrring" sound rather than just one tone?
-
• #212
The spur really is that much better! The tone is cleaner, louder and much longer than a ding ding! My knog OI is an embarrassing piece of crap compared, but it looks so neat on the roadie

Lion bell works for me.......wears beautifully, too!

My knog Oi's spring has twisted since I got it, meaning that it probably only rings true about 50% of the time - it's got a really nice sustain to it though, and does look very neat. Probably go for the Spur copy next time.

Can confirm spur turns a crowd of pedestrians into instant meercats.

I will going to a spur when the Time is right for sure

In case you wanted to see a Spurcycle bell next to a Rockbros copy:

Interesting! Never knew of existence, now I do. Have a £££ bike coming soon and think I'll put a proper spurcycle one on it. Sound like a decent product
-
• #220
I'd say spurcycle is slightly quieter, but the sustain is way way longer. Definitely a quality product.

Do I get an OI then, or go straight for the spur?
-

The Oi.
Aesthetically perfect. Neat, simple, most don’t notice it. But;
Pitch 6/10
Volume 5/10
Length 6/10- it’s a solid good.
The Spur.
Nothing is superior.
Beautiful aesthetically, I prefer the Oi, as it’s flatter to the bar and more hidden etc. But that’s me.Pitch 9/10
Volume 9/10
Length 10/10It’s near perfect.
- it’s a solid good.

I had the Oi for two years.
the worse money I have never spent on bike stuff.
Design without a meaning.
Can't scary an ant. However, I see many bikers (especially messengers or "wanna-be-messenger") with a whistle in their mouths. Works pretty good, I believe.
In the road bike I do use the HideMyBell as I currently place the camera/GPS on it as well.

Wow, 2018. Where did the time go eh?
Looking for a couple of bells. Probably going to put cheapy ping bells on most of them but I want one of those bigger CLING CLONG bells for my cargo bike. Any recommendations?

^ these are actually really great. Nice but pricey once postage is paid.
have you had a fake one before? (I have already bought now post-rationalising)
