just petty moaning then...
guilty.
Some of the mechanics really are frustrating when you get started and they really do put a damper on things at first and the control scheme is really frustrating when you're trying to figure everything out at the beginning but once you settle in and the gameplay takes the forefront it becomes something quite special.
I've never managed to get past about 6 hours of gameplay on any GTA game as it felt repetitive and clunky most of the time, so i'd end up driving around a bit and then never going back to it.
With this I've spent the last 4 days just wandering around the wilderness hunting for pelts and exploring anywhere on the map where there might be something cool. I've done maybe 4 story missions in that whole time. it's much like fallout 3 in that you can just take off to a corner of the map and spend hours looking in huts and finding little pieces of story. if you ride flat out everywhere you'll miss 90% of what makes it good.
the little annoyances are still there and will pop up from time to time and reading around online they're quite widely shared but tbh they're worth putting up with.

Dark Souls: I finally beat Ornstein and Smough.
Even though they beat me 15+ times, I wasn't really frustrated, it was a fair situation.
Calling Solaire helped as a distraction, but ultimately didn't help.
I did it my ridding Ornstein then getting the timing down on Smough. The biggest issue was his AoE lightning drop, I couldn't out run it, ever.
Dual handing a ManSerpant Greatsword +10 with a grass crest sheild off handed for the stamina regen bonus.
Also went back to Painted world to take on the boss their (Priscilla?)
No drama.Onwards!
(Also Diablo 3 is on my radar when I beat this fucker)

Duke's archive (annoying maze-like) and crystal cave (Magical environment with tough boss with Curse) next?

Sums up my reasons for not getting it. I'd be buying it just for Zelda/Mario. With Stardew Valley finally coming out on Vita a few months back, that was the last hope of me buying a Switch gone!
Looking forward to the day a company finally manages to release a decent handheld PC/console type thing.
Like this, but less shit:

MOst annoying occurences on RDR2 at the moment. Go on a mission. Get sidetracked by some stupd stranger who needs taking home - miiiiiles out of your way - just about get there, then get attacked by wolves. Shoot wolves like 3 or 4 times each, wolves just soak up bullets like they're dog biscuits, and kill you. Now you wasted a shit tonne of time. Turn of RDR2.

Just happened again. Fuckers. Real annoying.
-
• #20110
I ignore strangers/chance encounters while on missions for this exact reason/learning the hard way on last RDR.

Near the end of the tedious mess of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Utter mess of a trainwreck of a story that they don't even bother to expose well. Unlike the last two series, I have no desire to go back and 100% this. Just blah.
Destiny 2 now free on Battle net. Downloading to see if it's worth it.

It's an amazing game but there are a number of things (these are so petty) that are furstrating.
For example, donating to camp, I have to hold a button and I can only do one thing at a time?
Swimming I just don't get whatsoever.
This is more of my annoyance but charging that bloody horse into trees/ rocks higher than their knees.
On the whole though it's fantastic, my housemates have sat and watched me play the game and say it's just like watching a film.
I just have no idea where I'll go after I've played this, I have a feeling most games are going to pale in comparison.

Dukes archives.
Found Sleath, got killed (I think was intended as I spawned at a new bonfire)
Now running about a library, fucking up Crystal dudes and a mimic.
Enjoying it still! -

nearing the end of the main quest portion of Mr Witchman and it's all gone very rails-y, which is kinda disappointing considering the freedom you had to dick about and stab fauna and flora at your leisure up to that point. I also have no idea what is going on. is the DLC worth wading through as well?
-
• #20115
the DLC is great. the big one blood and wine gives a whole new region to explore and hearts of stone has some pretty good characters and quests with some big set piece story missions.
-
• #20116
Kinda feeling this too.
Fooled myself into believing more games could be ported down to work okay on the switch. 1st party is still holding it's own though, and as long as 4p indie fungames keep coming it'll be worth the cash. Need to sort my PC out really though.

Is there a decent third party portable dock available yet?
HDMI out + Charging?
Would be good for travelling, as I'm always worried that the dock is going to get crushed and break. -

God of war update
Grinding must echoes in Niflheim is just boring me to tears, all I want is to fucking open the realm tears and pop those last two legendary chests but that’s like 37k mist echoes and I’m bringing back 1800 per swing through, if I get lucky with a norn chest, and that’s before I upgrade the armour.
So I’ve taken myself off to musphelheim to do the new tasks over there and grind some crest of flames. So I can go back and kick the queen of the valkryies ass, as I was severely underpowered going up against her.
I have now fully upgraded my axe and chaos blades, which is nice.. but am concerned that every upgrade to a runic attack or weapon skill now seems to require all my xp..
When I finish it, think I’m going to get going on horizon:zero dawn to fill the gap for the next couple of months while I wait for red dead 2 and Spider-Man to come down in price.. -

Slowly getting into RDR2 more. Did that raid on the O'Driscolls in the forest, then got a bounty on me when I was in the house and nobody else around.
Still struggling combat wise, real hard to get your aim in right.
-
• #20120
I find aiming in this game pretty easy. Even lowered the auto aim on foot to half as it felt like I’m cheating.
Really satisfying pulling out headshots in this game.
Only a lot of hours in I found out you can completly shoot of a head if you’re close range with a shotgun!
-
• #20121
there's also an insta-kill animation when you get in up close and have a sawn-off equipped.
strolling into town after a messy battle and greeting the townfolk:
"Ma'am"...
"Did you know you're covered in blood?"
"Alright well good day to ya"haha.
-
• #20122
use the auto aim that happens when you press L2. Aim near someone, press L2, shoot them, let go of L2, rinse + repeat.
-
• #20123
getting used to using dead eye is also basically a requirement if you plan on wandering around anywhere with cougars, wolves or bears.
-
• #20124
I went exploring yesterday and encountered cougars for the first time, those fuckers give you no warning at all.
-
• #20125
Also after a while you'll get used to flicking the right stick up and firing off a headshot.
You'll hate it lal.
