Forgive the total n00b question having just bought an Elite Turbo Muin direct drive.
I have no problem shifting my cassette from my summer bike to the turbo while I use it during winter.
My question is: spare cassette just for the turbo, or same cassette? Does it make any difference?
It's a Campag Chorus cassette so I'd rather not buy a new one if I can avoid it.

The only way to stop the spiral of death is HTFU and keep spinning or grind to a halt, backpedal, breathe, go for it again.

My workouts regular contain a couple of unplanned 800w low to high cadence drills... makes vo2 max work even harder...

just for a ramp test so far.
Price was the decider!
Smart trainers are great although my last turbo (Tacx vortex smart) was also a smart trainer so nothing new. Happy with trainerroad.

I'd just buy a cheaper cassette but with the same speed and number of teeth. So on my wheels I have a 11sp 11-32 ultegra and I just put an 11sp 11-32 105 which works exactly the same but cheaper. Would hate to keep swapping over 1 cassette

selling a v1 wahoo kickr for £550. works perfectly, fully smart and erg etc etc etc. fits road bikes, disc road bikes, mtbs etc. needs an adapter from wahoo for bolt thrus
unfortunately I don't have space to have a permanent setup in my new place - and it is putting me off using it, instead favouring the gym. located in guildford but can deliver within a reasonable distance for £

Mine arrived on Friday but due to a crazy few days only just inboxed it.
Busting to give it a go but don’t really have the energy.
First up jump in with a 20 min FTP test? Or better to start with something else to get more used to it? -

don’t really have the energy
&
20 min FTP test
sounds like a terrible combination. Try it out to see how it feels on various types of effort, and save the test for when you're rested :-)

Yeah, definitely start with something fun, the 20 minute FTP test might make you hate your life and the trainer.

Have you considered a Ramp Test?
-
• #2023
I was thinking I might do a ramp test...
-
• #2024
I agree, don t do like me revising 200 YouTube videos on "how to do a FTP test on a smart trainer" before jumping on and do a FTP test that has ruined emotionally my week.

I reckon, and I don't want to seem too 'out there' with this suggestion but maybe, just maybe, if the conditions are right and you're feeling like it's the best thing to do at the time, perhaps you could consider, as a definite maybe option and bearing in mind there's no pressure from anyone, that possibly a Ramp Test might be something worth considering?
Ooh, do tell...
