LB Ealing are even putting marked cycle lanes on the raised pads for pedestrian crossings.

• #53
Thank god I live in Peckham where the infrastructure is still shit.

• #54
Let's do a chopper-train setting off from Old Street. Paging @jaeyukdapbap too.

Welcome @Josh89
-
• #65
We should be riding over so can I have details of, ideally, secure bike parking etc as carrying locks is a rare occurrence for us.
-
• #66
Yep, I would say one of the best pizza's in west London.

You should be able to join the Norths convoy along the pleasure of the Uxbridge Road.
2 options;
a) New manager may be amenable to opening the side entrance to the be-pergola-ed Beer Garden, which will have lots of space.
b) Should this not happen, directly opposite the pub is an oldee-stylee metal railing just about the right height to D-lock bikes to. This is where Wests routinely lock up bikes, with no problems so far. -
• #68
So, are you going to join us?
-
• #69
I would love to not have to carry a lock as well, as a matter of fact. I remember that in previous installments we were able to park the bikes in the garden, was assuming this one would be no different.

@NorthLondonLight
@cgg
I will drop in the Red Lion again tomorrow evening. Now we have a healthy number of people indicating they are attending, Edin the current Manager who had a text link to this thread, can see how many are coming.
This will make it easier for him to be persuaded to let us use the beer garden as a bikepark.
Expect an update Friday am.
If you know anyone else who is attending but has not yet, please encourage them to click the 'Attending' button. -

Only my forum handle remains of my north London roots. Have been permanently resident in W3 for at least 3 years now and, fortunately for me and Mrs NLL, our route is back streets past Acton Town station, Gunnesbury Park and urban streets taking us almost to the venue.

Amazing, thanks a lot!
-
• #73
Well that will be a lot easier for you both.

@cgg
@NorthLondonLight
Apologies for the delay.
I did drop in to the Red Lion on Thursday evening, but did not see Edin, the manager.
A swift exchange of texts this morning.We will be able to park our bikes in the beer garden, so those travelling from afar can be spared the tyranny of London-grade (&mass) D-locks.
This years guest beer is Red Fox;

Amazing, thanks!
Shared bike path? Cycling infrastructure??!? If I wanted that kind of crap I would move to the communist Holland with its bike path canals and crusty drugheads.
