Why does it have a dropper?
-
• #6053
that is a lovely bike (rear light is very tidy) but not sure if it counts as gravel, really.

Yeah totally aware of this option, something like a surly fork woulde be ideal, but I’ve got a 44mm headtube so it would look naff with a skinny fork

Why does it have a dropper?
Do u even gravel 2018?
-

Dropper seatposts make a huge difference to descending on an Mtb so could also help on more interesting trails on gravel bike. Can also imagine it would be useful to drop saddle descending on road so you can get a lower postion without having to sit on top tube.
I’d love to have a gravel bike with wireless dropper controlled by the hidden ANT switches on shimano Di2 shifters.

I bought the new RC 520 the other week. Hope I don't regret not waiting for the gravel version.

• #6062
Did it come with a sweet stem?

Finally one-coloured bar tape as well.

That’s frame + fork according to the site. The tripster is lighter than those and it’s a tank.

I don't think a fat bottom steerer would make the fork look any different..
I know you asked for a steel tapered fork, but I can't think of any.. You do have a carbon fork with rack mounts: http://www.rodeo-labs.com/rodeospork/

My Pickenflick reached its final form with two wheelsets to be a true do-it-all, here is an offroad version:
650b with GK SK 48b, so much plush, I love it, even no longer afraid of cobbles. Also still very quick on road and even on sand and light mud it copes reasonably well.
The previous 700c wheelset got 28c road tyres, also for winter I got Suomi W240 700x40c at bargain to have some "ice skating" fun if it gets frosty ;) -

There's a few more snaps here:

From what I can tell, gears and brakes are identical to the RC 520. So apart from the swanky new stem, paint job and probably better tyre clearance, I am not sure what else is different.

Flared bars also
Any thoughts on the Cannondale Topstone?
