So Sky announced today that Owain Doull has had his contract extended for a year. No news yet on Tao or Dibben.

Trek-Drops crowdfunding 250k after co-title sponsor pulled out.
Perfect opportunity to make the crappy James Bond sequel: Sky-Drops. -

Trek. They must have known that was coming.

Trek had already told Bob Varney they wouldn’t be renewing, due to setting up their own team (with some of the riders from Trek-Drops).
This news is about a new co-sponsor pulling out after they’d agreed to support the team next season.
Sky won’t touch it, they’ve made it crystal clear that they have zero interest in supporting the women’s side of the sport.

Maybe this is the moment for British Cycling to step up rather than just say they're considering it like they do most years.
-
• #19857
Ah ok. Badly worded then I assumed it was just about trek, not a new co title sponsor. Although I’m sure drops is just a holding name? So really it’s full sponsor.

2 year contract for Tao

• #19859
I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you.

EF have signed Lachlan Morton. How many kooky climbers who never win shit does a team need?
-
• #19861
Maybe they should bring Phil Gaimon back out of retirement as well...
-
• #19862
He's a world champion now you know?
-
• #19863
It depends on what you think of the idea of their being 'value' in a cycling team beyond winning - in being popular on social media, in being liked, in having 'personalities' on board. It may be making virtue of a necessity with EF but Vaughters might also be on to something. Then again, Rapha are involved so it's probably bullshit.

Everyone seems to go backwards or stagnate at EF/Cannondale/Whatever.
Uran’s second place at the Tour in 2017 is a rare exception.

This is a corker... he really doesn't give a shit does he. It's like he's just trolling everyone
-
• #19869
Welp, to me his rep already completely went out of the window when he tried to get into rowing and looked like a total mug doing it.
-
• #19870
He’s got a fair point though.
-
• #19871
If you mean the presumed guilt thing, he can piss off. He constantly said he was going to explain everything but then didn't bother. If he leaves a gap in the narrative he can't be surprised when people fill it.
If you didn't mean that then... as you were

In the sense that his wife and children shouldn’t suffer because of any possible guilt on his part. If his wife is bipolar then life won’t be easy, and his kids suffering harassment isn’t fun.
He perhaps could have dealt with all that in the start by behind honest, which he hasn’t ever been. Perhaps because he can’t...
-
• #19873
Well that’s definitely shit I’d agree. Like you said though, honesty is lacking on his side
-
• #19874
I call bullshit. What Wiggins did, whether you like it or not, was within the rules and did not lead to an anti- doping infraction. There is no case to answer, because there is no case.
His medical history is only in the public domain because the Russiaon government hacked the information and leaked it to divert attention away from their own massive, state sponsored cheating.
If you’re going to get angry about it, get angry with the real cheats.

Hey, Russia be clean! They have t-shirts to prove it!
Er. Nah.
