• "Probably not with PressFit though."

  • but your shiv and tarmac ?!

  • Campag

    HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaa

  • Neither of which have Rotors in them, nor do they get flogged through all weathers and terrains. That's probably why neither of them have any creaks/squeaks even though the Tarmac is 12 years old.

  • people race cross with BB86 .. rotors can go in BB86

  • People who race 'cross clean and rebuild everything bin everything after every race.

  • Also, anyone racing cross can't hear a squeak over their heavy breathing nor does anyone give a shit given the races are only an hour. Try putting up with the same creak for 3000k.

  • fair enough, it'll have to be a kinesis

  • I'm surprised you haven't just asked @scherrit

  • Buy a Talbot

  • You still don't have a sponsor?

  • To bin my stuff after every race?

  • Talbot good shout. It might pain me more when I break it though ;)

  • Not even a brewery. I think it'd hurt their profits too much.

He's had a little experience with 'reinforcing' bikes for some customers...

  • I've had more BB changes on my Volare than chain & cassettes...

  • Swapped your cranks? I had a set of old/second-hand cranks that was prematurely killing fresh BBs.

  • Good point, but the cranks seemed fine according to the mechanic who did the job. I wash my road bike after every ride in winter (Danish roads are gritted, so you kind of have to) so bearings have a hard life, but I'm still not massively impressed by BB86. It's currently on Token bearings that seem to be much more durable than the Shimano stuff that was on there before though.

  • The crank in mine look fine as well but it only takes a little bit of uneven wear on the bearing surfaces or maybe an imperceptible bend in the axle to throw a spanner in the bearings.

  • What about the new Ribble steel frame...

Not super fancy but ticks most boxes https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-cgr-725/

  • And a new contender enters the ring! You can stop looking now.

  • £800 for the frameset, or £200 extra for full bike?

  • Can't tell if that does much in the way of hiding Di2 cables? Probably a bit bare bones for me.
I reckon if I'm going to break them or they're killed by drivers every 18 months then essentially someone else will be paying for them every time so I may as well get more expensive shit. :)

  • I don't want a gravel bike though, I want a road bike that has discs, di2, decent tyre clearances.
I never actually used the large tyre capacity on the Tripster (I do have a 42mm tyre but never ran it).

Can you get that as a frameset? Is it ever going to be available?

Hmm, the geo might be bumping out of range but I'd need to look at the 4S angles.
