• The council subcontractors did it. They're definitely going to foot the bill. They damaged 20-25 cars, about 8 of which severely.

    Not sure what happens with premiums, but I had to claim as the costs to repair are huge.

  • So are you claiming through your insurance?

    We had someone go into the back of our car 3 years ago at a traffic light and caused maybe £1k of damages. They admitted fault, we didn't lose our no claims and it was covered by their insurance.

    Our premium still rose 20% (and will do until 5 years has passed) because of it...

    Hate to think what will happen if you're claiming against your insurance for a full write off.

  • It's a £60k car on finance. The council initially sent out a form declaring that they'll valet the vehicles, but that won't work and a detailer already shook his head.

    So I've got to get the car back to new now, because if not I'll face a huge bill in a few years.

    Hopefully the third party will fully cover it and my premiums won't be too severely affected, only minorly so. But it's got to be done

  • Loss of no claims and then having to admit a claim.
