The guys in Notting Hill have been quite helpful. Not for any work just Click & Collect but they've always been pleasant, called back when I was looking for stuff that suppliers failed to deliver, etc.

Perhaps I just need to be less cynical...
Probably a little yes.
No offence, but you seem to be bearing some sort of misplaced grudge. As for chain retailers killing off LBS, I would really like to see the data on that, as it seems a bit directed and extreme.
Also, people will feel involved wherever they want to irrespective of workplace or salary. Did I go through a lot of colleagues whilst working there? Yeah. Did all of them, at one point or the other, get into the cycling world and feel more engaged. Totally.Just because some jobs are menial, doesn't mean people don't feel engaged.
You ever speak to any teachers these days? -

The guys in Notting Hill have been quite helpful.
Sold me an Arkose and gave me a cardboard bike box when I was in need. Top.

Ah, I've not been there in a while. It was during the panic buying stages of various races I'd get stuff sent there to pick up. They were the poor guys that could only source one half of a crankset from a supplier.

Halfords reported to have walked away from the table

Probably because the 4th leg was missing bolts....

TBH not entirely surprised, however it will make it harder for Evans to sell Brompton now that they're also selling them too.
-
• #1239
And it only went in there to have some scratches in the top surface repaired.
-
• #1240
this itself being a remarkable U-turn in policy from Brompton

You could almost say....they....folded

Did make people mark all read?

So Brompton is now offering dealer status out like cinnamon buns?
Hows Evans doing, not heard much from folk that work there recently, probably keep them in the dark until the morning they turn up for work and the door is locked :/
-
• #1248
That sound more likely sadly, we weren't really told much other than to keep busting our asses.
-
• #1249
They wouldn't want it to go like Woolworths where staff sold off all the stock.

Can someone rename to sports direct thread?
colleague;
a person with whom one works in a profession or business.
Sound about right.
