I know Jaw is having a sly dig but I couldn't see Chelsea getting much bigger crowds there or generating a big atmosphere.
Half dig, half genuine observation.
The Wembley accessibility thing is an excuse I’m not buying. It’s not exactly easy to get to and from WHL either. I’d understand you’d struggle to fill Wembley on a Monday night against Bournemouth or Cardiff but not against the defending champions and arguably the best PL team in a generation or so.Tell me the last time there was a decent atmosphere at that ground? I certainly don’t recall it.

It depends on where you’re coming from also, there’s the routine and the habit of going to WHL, that makes it less of a ball ache because you’ve been doing it for the lifetime of your support. Rather than the season and a bit at Wembley, and also to be clear there is fuck all in and around Wembley to make it worth your while blocking up and waiting for the exodus to calm down..
Re: why no sellout for Man City, who the fuck knows. Are man city a glamour club? Is there enough of a rivalry to get fans out to support because “we’d love it, if we could beat them!”
‘Twas a sellout for Barca, and the atmosphere was atmospheric whenever the possibility of spurs getting something out of the game was dangled in front of us.Looking forward to asking the same questions of chelsea’s support when you spend your time in Wembley waiting for Stamford bridge to be rebuilt..

I think the travel is a big factor. Chelsea are planning to be there 2 years will probably end up being 3. Will you or I get a season ticket for those years as they’ll probably be available? I know I’d Give some Monday night games a miss even if I did have a season ticket. The quality of the football clearly has a part to play though.
Not much anyone can do about the atmosphere, it’s a typical modern, multipurpose stadium that does everything well but nothing really well. Probably what Spurs and then Chelsea will end up with!
Went to Wembley last night, house guests had got tickets. I don't think I'd be up for Monday nights there even if it was Chelsea. I'd pick up a Chelsea season ticket if they came up with stadium expansion (which they won't even if it happens, which it probably won't). It's one thing to walk 10 minutes to and from the ground on a Monday night but Wembley is 10 minutes walk to the station and that's if you beat the main part of the crowd.
The atmosphere was flat because the stadium's huge. Spurs didn't lay a glove on City and City didn't seem to be bothered once they had a goal. It was no showcase of talent.

Felt very weird being around so many Spurs fans, what a hopeless bunch. Halftime they were reliving the past glories of Glen Hoddle, the '91 FA cup win. Clinging on to ancient history, sad to witness.
